Tibet

No journey, no place has ever challenged me as Tibet did. My 3500 km solo horse trek across this unforgiving land in 2002 and 2004 brought me to my knees both physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Suffering extremes of altitude, cold, isolation and in constant conflict with the Chinese authorities made my pledge to deliver the ashes of a Tibetan Lama, Khensur Thabkey Rinpoche, to the holy Mount Kailas in Tibet`s far west a test of endurance, both of body and mind.

My book You Must Die Once  (Highly Commended in the 2007 Cathay Pacific Travel Media Awards) tells the whole story without pulling punches.
